Alliant Techsystems

Alliant Techsystems is a supplier of aerospace and defense technologies to the U.S. and its allies. ATK specializes in conventional and smart munitions, propulsion systems and composite structures.

Based in Hopkins, Minnesota, Alliant Techsystems employs approximately 6,300 people in three divisions.

U.S. Air Force

The U.S. Air Force started using Password Policy Enforcer in 1999, and currently has a 600,000 user license.

The Air Force had been using a password cracker to find weak passwords. PPE was chosen to "eliminate the need for this [cracking] process by proactively executing the password crack before the user has the opportunity to enter a poor password."

U.S. Army Directorate of Information Management

The DOIM provides support to Information Technology personnel in the U.S. Army. Personnel supported include Chief Information Officers, Deputy Chiefs of Staff for Information Management, and Army Directors of Information Management.

Support is provided through the relaying of current information regarding policy, architecture, standards and resources in the Information Technology area.
